Soo-Ah was born to slaves, but their/her parents bought her/their freedom when they/she was six years old. However, they/she had nowhere to go. Her/their parents' owners cruelly kicked her/them out of the house, leaving her/them free but homeless. There, they/she learned to survive on the streets and fight for herself/themself. She/they tried to find work, but finding work as an ungnyeo - a foreign bear-like spirit much maligned by Endruinite authorities - is nearly impossible. Finding solidarity with others living on the streets, she/they learned the craft of begging and street survival, and eventually, they/she came to the notice of the Blue Grith, who trained her/them to organize and fight back. Now, they/she leads the people of the streets in resisting tyranny.
