Beliefs:

Keserel (The Sea Goddess): The universe is a fluid thing, and understanding it lies in understanding the currents that flow through it. Sometimes, it is violent and savage, and other times, it is calm and peaceful. Knowing when is when is important. The sea is representative of the entire universe, and within it is the resting place for all. Let the currents carry you, for damming them up and trying to control them is futile. While you have some choice--you can swim--ultimately, controlling the universe is folly. The waves wear away the shore just as the universe wears away our souls. We can do naught but stand strong or ride the wave. A river is a journey, sometimes dangerous sometimes calm, and we must follow it to its end. We all start as tiny springs, but the greatest of us can become mighty rivers in the end. We are as deep as pools and as shallow as puddles. The universe is fluid. Flow with it.

Afterlife:

The flow of the soul can go one of two ways: into the body of a simple fish or other water-creature, or into the water itself. If the soul is not ready to go on and become water, it will find a new body in the flow, but if it is ready, it will become part of the currents of the universe.
