When he rallied the Reever Sea in defiance of Agikaan, he captured the hearts of the world. His bravery, wit, and strength won freedom for more than just his own people. He defended three continents' shores as well. When he was slain, then, by the treacherous Heartslayer, captain of the Echeneis, it guaranteed violent civil war in the Wyren and Aurul and Altic Oceans.

For 130 years, the command of the Merukisi realms was in dispute, until, finally, nine captains banded together into a formal council and brought peace.
