The Agikaani invasion never met such resistance as it did on Ansulym. The fearsome warriors of Dabusen even feared what they would meet on the Shadow Continent: doppelgangers that took their faces, nightmares that could kill, cannibalistic ogres, shadows that ate flesh and soul, wolves whose howls drove men mad, venomirs and their poisonous hands, diseases unimaginably horrible, the Srisians and their inventive tactics, and, of course, the Raesians. The undead. The One True God's powers were incredible, but in the face of the undead, they faltered. In the end, they found ways to counter most of the forces of Ansulym, but the undead proved too much for them. Every live body they slew rose up again. It was too much. They retreated.

In the aftermath, the rest of the continent faced much the same problem: the dead were still around, and they followed one being's commands. The Shepherd of the Damned laughed maniacally as almost every inch of the Shadow Continent fell to his might.
