Infernal Spiders

The primary source of gossamer light is the infernal light reflected off the webs of infernal spiders, called pahlul. Pahlul range in size from minuscule to massive, dwelling in the Infernal Realms and the spider warrens beneath Srisia. In the Infernal Realms, any light that touches them is reflected off as gossamer light, creating an eerie white glow. This glow is harvested by demons and other infernal beings, if they can escape the pahlul. In the spider warrens, special lanterns are produced that burn infernum in order to produce the light, and it is harvested by powerful webweavers or their servants by taking the webs themselves and placing them in tea lights.

The Glow

The glow is carried via the tea lights and used to bathe the webweaver. They lie in a shallow tub, surrounded by the lights, and through the dawn until midday, they bask within an inner room with no windows and soak in the light.

Webs

The remaining webs are then taken from the tea lights and soaked in saltwater. They are kept for use later in various forms - bindings, bandages, ropes, and more.
