| Description | Wayi wayi nigisitochi are spectral figures made of the shards of the emotions of the mortal, wrapped in the stitched-together flesh of those they kill. |
| Corruption | A mortal can become a wayi nigisiti in an act of ritual desecration. A wayi nigisiti must be a person who had enormous power in life and seeks to hold onto it in a moment of desperation. |
| Esoterica | Wayi wayi nigisitochi are beings of desperation, despair resonance, and msawhat. They retain most powers they had in life, though corrupted by desperation or msawhat, except those of qi, the gates, or heavenly essences. After they become undead, many of them take up cacophony, viscera, Raesian energy, tears energy, quaestus, imperium, arnum, misfortune, autumn aether, fallow aether, brumal aether, winter aether, brown aether, pravum, parasitic energy, doom, uafas, mana, ethereal energy, psionic energy, symbolism, ancestral memory, or spirits. |
| Special Powers | A wayi nigisiti has an unpleasant wail that causes those who hear it to fall into a deep depression. If the wayi nigisiti's spectral form touches one of these victims while they cry, they will be able to possess the body and remove the viscera, bones, and other insides, leaving only the flesh, which the wayi nigisiti wears as their own. Once they have a "body," they are able to use their voices for far more: words of command, words of terror, words of pain, words of frost. Every emotion they cause is immediately absorbed by them, no matter how far away they are. The more emotion they devour, the more powerful they become. Quickly, they become strong enough to wield desperation and msawhat as a bright grey flame. The flame evokes even more emotions, which they continue to consume, gaining even more strength, until they are able to call up the desecration that created them. The desecration power is controlled; they can determine its range and potency. Their presence causes intense unease. |
| Necromancy | The ritual (28) to become a wayi nigisiti requires an act of suicidal spite, the weaponizing of one's own death to destroy one's enemies. The resultant blast of desecration ruins about a quarter mile of the world around them. To control or summon a wayi nigisiti, one would have to have something that was valuable or meaningful to them in life and their name to be invoked before a pool of the tears of innocents; raw power of desperation and/or msawhat to do so would be considerable (34). To capture one and draw power from it requires tricking them into a suit of flesh laced with bonesilver powder and fragments of scarstone. The phantasmal form of a wayi nigisiti can be channeled by a medium, but the medium must be soaked in a bath of the tears of a thousand innocents and camellia petals or the wayi nigisiti will consume them and seize their flesh. Even with the special bath, the medium's will must be incredibly powerful. |
| Sending | To destroy a wayi nigisiti, one must destroy the phantasmal form. First, the flesh must be destroyed, and then the spectral form must be lured into a rushing river into which a sacred emblem is cast. They can also be destroyed by a spear made of the bones of a human warrior from at least 100 years ago or a hagstone made of greenstone being bound around their phantasmal form. |
| Weaknesses | Hope resonance, liberation power, radiance, and Elysian energy all harm them more than other energies, but qi, the gates, and any other heavenly essence can harm them. |
| Behavior | Wayi wayi nigisitochi first seek flesh to wear. Once they have this, they begin hunting. They build their strength, lurking in the desert, waiting on travellers. Some they feed off, others they enslave. They build an army until they have the power to desecrate, at which time, they begin to seek to conquer and control massive territories, building a ruined sprawl of devastation, undead, and suicides. |
| Dominion Culture | In the Durosian Dominion, wayi wayi nigisitochi are the ruling class, the queens of the deserted ruinscapes where their power is built. |
| Other Dominions | If a wayi nigisiti joins another Dominion, they are often welcomed if they are willing to bring their territory or slaves over as well. Some are welcomed regardless, especially in Kaanian or Raesian; they must pay their way into Srisian and Fellwood. Godless requires they vow to obey the godless eternal, and in Sangarian, Dun, and Wapek, they are revered and honored. Qhanuum, Pandemonian, and Campionese have little use for them. |
| Mortal Interactions | Mortals mostly know wayi wayi nigisitochi as something in far-off places, unless they live near them, and then they know them as rulers of a place they should never go. |
| Afterlife | When a wayi nigisiti is destroyed or sent, they end up spending Ages in the in-between before going on to Broken Obelisk, the Hells, or the Grey Lands. |
