Before being killed in the mines under the Collerin Mountains, he found the Makersteel & sent it to Aldo to keep it out of the wrong hands. He was revived by the dragon Algensaens & made to serve a year's worth of work for her in exchange. He stole the Perfect Garnet from her hoard & slipped it to Aldo, earning himself 100 years more service.
