Thraxes are a predominantly female society with a hive queen and very structured. They have a strict caste system that has developed beyond their mundane variants'. Queens rule, generals aide them. Soldiers are split between generals, captains, sergeants, and privates. Then there are workers, who are split between scholars, artisans, laborers, merchants, and farmers. Finally, there are the drones, who are either slaves, breeders, or fodder.

They are known to be industrious and cooperative. They live in massive colonial nests made of earth and plant matter, though some breeds are nomadic, using bivouac colonies. They often work together to solve problems, which is vastly more effective than alone. Some races go on slave-raids, stealing the drones of other colonies for their own, but most breed their own slaves.
