The siirthex absorb argentfire. In order to survive, they must find the rare spots it occurs naturally, attracting it with their bone-mane (called a conductive plate). If they are completely charged, they are able to grab argentfire instead of absorbing it. Female siirthex have the ability to see lifeforce patterns if they close their eyes. Male siirthex have in childhood the ability to speak to souls. They lose this ability in adolescence, but gain the ability to regenerate quickly once they are grown. The siirthex are immune to argentfire damage.

The siirthex are nomadic, searching the world over for the rare natural springs of argentfire that fuel an area's growth and energy. They are often found in elven lands and in dense jungles and forests. They are kind to strangers and tend to welcome them in, seeking to understand them and commune with them. The women use their abilities to find where the strongest living things are, guiding the tribe to likely sources of food. The children commune with outsiders and seek to understand the realm, and the men defend the tribe when danger strikes.
