[20:27:34] Dionysus: One night, the first week, Arlie, an old sailor walks up next to you & claps you on the back. You've not noticed him before on the ship.

[20:27:53] Arlie_B: "Good winds?"

[20:28:11] Dionysus: "Howdy, sonny. Aye, good winds. Nice night, too."

[20:28:30] Dionysus: He spits over the rail, "Always puts me in a conversant mood, nights like this."

[20:28:50] Dionysus: He scratches an odd scar on his short-beareded face, rustling his old blue sea coat.

[20:28:55] Arlie_B: "If only my wife allowed booze on deck, aye?"

[20:29:09] Dionysus: He chuckles, reaches into his coat, "Well..."

[20:29:21] Dionysus: He pulls out an old, grubby deck of cards. "Pick a card, friend. Any card."

[20:29:27] Arlie_B: "Ha! She'll skin us both..."

[20:29:46] Arlie_B: "Oh," Arlie frowns and picks a card.

[20:30:47] Dionysus: The card is orange on both sides.

[20:31:24] Dionysus: On it, is a white felinian wielding two Gifted Swords in the heat of battle, gracefully dancing through danger.

[20:31:35] Dionysus: The old sailor takes the Card & hums. "The Queen of Cats."

[20:31:50] Dionysus: "Good tale, that. Once upon a time..."

[20:31:59] Dionysus: You become enraptured as he says that.

[20:32:13] Arlie_B: I already am.

[20:32:16] Arlie_B: Jesus.

[20:32:55] Dionysus: He describes a young black felinian who ran away from home to find herself, turning to thievery, to this, to that, until she joined a circus & befriended a jester, who left her a Gifted Sword. One thing lead to another, & the one who replaced that jester was a very special man, & another close friend to her.

[20:33:42] Dionysus: They faced trouble in the ancient empire of Vesturia that lead them to the attention of the Empire of Tara'hin, where the Queen met the Goddess of Hope, who gave her another Gifted Sword, guiding her & the jester to greatness.

[20:34:44] Dionysus: They faced many dangers in service to the Empire, until the Queen became restless with the progress of the Empire. She sought her answers elsewhere, & found herself deep in the Dream Realm, where the Mother of Darkness confronted her, marking her with a patch of white on her neck. Enraged, the Queen swore to find the power to face her.

[20:35:01] Dionysus: She roamed the world, finding Gifts & allies, including the King of Dragons.

[20:35:39] Dionysus: She was present at the death of the God of Chaos, & later at the death of the Mother of Darkness. She faced down the Webweaver's mortal incarnation, hunted morags, played reever as the Crimson Queen, defeated the Guardians & freed the gods.

[20:35:53] Dionysus: She killed the Father of Hatred, & became the consort of the Father of Fauna.

[20:36:00] Dionysus: She now hunts larger prey, somewhere...

[20:36:14] Dionysus: "...Here, keep this Card. Read it if you're ever in a tight spot."

[20:36:40] Arlie_B: "Is all that true? Who are you?"

[20:37:03] Dionysus: He grins, "Over the years, she used up her lives, see, & her fur turned white to match that patch the Mother of Darkness gave, her by the way. 'S why she's white on the Card. You know who I am, & we'll meet again sometime."

[20:37:07] Dionysus: And then he's gone.
