| Special Powers | Swan maidens carry a garment, called a token, made of either swanskin or swanfeathers that allows them to transform between swan and maiden form. Their very presence repels evil, and they have a natural bond with innocents that instills trust and love. Without their token, they remain swans by day and maidens at night, unless the owner of the token wills otherwise. |
| Weaknesses | If they lose their token, they are enslaved by its owner. They are also weak to Srisian magic or faith. |
| Culture | Swan maidens in their own societies serve to protect the innocent. They exist as caretakers until they are an Age old, then they venture forth around Shem seeking a mate of virtuous demeanor and quality. During this time, they are in the most danger of losing their token. If a swan maiden has lost her token, the new owner will be able to use it to become a black swan and/or to control the maiden, who will be stuck in a cycle of swan by day, maiden by night. She will retain her ability to repel evil, but it will not apply to her master, and she will retain her bond with the innocent, which she can use to discover where to find her token. |
