• Sue explores the void while the rest of the band gets itself in trouble.

Dionysus The void is a vast plane, as big as the prime plane, & when you gate into it blind, you nromally just go to a world similar in structure to Shem, but entirely void based.

Sue Is there any sign of civilization?

Sue Or life?

Dionysus Most of the world you are on is wilderness, but you can find strange temple cities, built of white-void stone (potent beyond all standards), filled with formless ones & strange looking athaks.

• Sue transforms into a greater athak while here, attempts to greet the strange athaks. "Hello."

Dionysus "Greetings," one says, his "voice" a whisper in the void.

Sue "I seek dragons. Do you know where I might find one?"

Dionysus He considers, "You are flesh still. Of course, you seek other flesh. They are in the Father's Tower."

Sue "Where is that?"

Dionysus He gestures toward the sky, "Out there, in the center of the universe."

• Sue looks toward the sky. Is it visible?

Dionysus Just a void-colorful expanse above, no towers.

• Sue considers the sky, turns into a formless one, and tries to fly toward the most powerful source of void apparent.

Dionysus After a few hours, it becomes apparent you are moving toward the equivalent of outer space here, with equivalent issues of distance.

• Sue reverts to greater athak form and uses the key of the void to skip over the vast expanses.

Dionysus Your goal being the Tower?

Sue Yes.

Dionysus You come through the gate into a massive hall, so large you can't see the other side of it from this wall. The wall you are next to curves gently, implying a circular room. Before you stretches an ornate ballroom, with greater & lesser athaks, void elves, & other void beings & beasts, plants & fungii, scattered through out it like a great market.

Dionysus The stone here is potent white. The people are more vibrant & colorful than anywhere you've been, but they all seem... slightly off.

• Sue lingers a bit, observing their behavior before continuing his search.

Dionysus They act normally, more or less, attending their duties, or their whims.

Dionysus You move centerward? Or around the rim?

• Sue moves around the rim for a quarter turn or half hour or so, then approaches the center.

Dionysus As you move through the crowd, you note that they are staring at you.

• Sue stops and approaches one. "Hello. What is this place?"

Dionysus "Heaven."

• Sue frowns slightly in confusion. "What is the purpose of this place? What are all these people doing?"

Dionysus "Enjoying themselves."

• Sue looks around at the crowd thoughtfully. "How long have you been here?"

Dionysus The athak pauses, "I can't say for sure. It's been... sometime?"

Sue "Who is in charge here?"

Dionysus "The Void-Father."

Sue "I see. Who keeps this place running? Who serves?"

Dionysus "His Will is supreme here. None serve. All dwell in happiness."

• Sue files that away for future investigation. "Are there void dragons here?"

Dionysus He gestures centerward, "They bask at the foot of the throne."

• Sue moves toward the center now, counting distinct species of athak.

Dionysus Five: greater, lesser, formless, & two strange ones you don't know of.

Sue Is there anything remarkable about the unknown species?

Dionysus One is distinctly more human-like, the other more like a cross between an ogre or troll & an athak--big, bulbous, muscular, craggy.

Dionysus As you approach the center, the hall becomes less market like & more church like. People are prostrated in blind, adulating worship. The center is a nigh blinding voidlight.

Dionysus If you approach it, the crowd parts for you, & the light dims as you approach.

Sue Is Quaigor the source of the light?

Dionysus He sits on a throne of void-platinum, gigantic, dwarfing the sleeping voiddragons at his feet, a pensive, cragy old man, black as midnight even on the void scale, so void-filledhe negates his own voidlight, featureless save two cavernous eyes & two tiny nubs for antennae. He gives off a radiant white corona of void. Welcome, Avatar.

• Sue bows. "Void Father, I have come to hire protection from the Gith raiders."

Dionysus In furtherance of our goals?

• Sue 's brow furrows in uncertainty. "Yes, to reach the final moon safely."

Dionysus He nods, Burzam. Coloxal. Awaken. Serve my Avatar.

Dionysus The two void dragons at his feet raise their heads, blinking themselves awake. "Yezz, mazter."

Dionysus One looks ot you, "How may we serve?"

• Sue 's expression relaxes. He musters his confidence and addresses the dragons. "I will return here with the Key of the Void. At that time, we will pass into the plane and escort a space ship on its way to the moon 'Rys. We are likely to encounter a squad of Gith raiders en route."

Dionysus "We will serve," they hiss.

• Sue bows to them, and again to Quaigor, then keys back to 'Sana.

Dionysus You come out where the airship was to find an empty platform. A lunarian looks to you & speaks lunarian, <You were with the terrestials, yeah?>

Sue <Yes. What happened to them?>

Dionysus <They left for Annavus. Said to tell you.>

Sue <I see. Thank you. Which way is Annavus?>

Dionysus He points, <About 150 miles south.>

• Sue tries to key into Annavus in as few hops as possible.

Dionysus Within ten minutes, you arrive

Dionysus The city is much like other lunarian cities. You can see the Opus docked high on one of the tower docks.

Dionysus People stare at you if you are in the streets. It is late night.

Dionysus Few people are out.

• Sue goes up to the tower docks and asks after the Color.

Dionysus <You're one of them? They're in the jails. Best keep low if I were you,> a tsukikuma growls.

Sue <Where are the jails?>

Dionysus He frowns, then tells you.

• Sue goes there.

Dionysus Inside, it is a standard police station save for it being on a moon & run by aliens. The lunarian, blue skinned, looks up as you enter, <Not another one...>

• Sue approaches him. <I beg your pardon?>

Dionysus <Err, what can I do for you?>

Sue <I am looking for the Color of Sound, a band from the planet. I was told that they were being kept here.>

Dionysus <Their trial is in the morning.>

Sue <May I speak with them?>

Dionysus He sighs, <Who are you?>

Sue <I am Subiquim Ixioj, First Bretheren of Uur Sodzul.>

Dionysus He pauses, <Is that supposed to mean something to me?>

Sue <Uur Sodzul is the empire of the moon 'Zue.>

Sue <May I speak with the Color?>

Dionysus He shakes his head, confounded a moment, then says, <Remove all your weapons & leave them here, sir.>

• Sue sets his revolver on the desk.

Dionysus The lunarian look sat it a moment, then shrugs, <Come along.>

Dionysus He leads you downstairs.
