(Session 1, 2006-12-09/September 1st, 940) The Challenge - with Dionysus, Sue's first earnest attempt at romantic composition. Inspired by the gig in New Anlir where the bearer of the First Song appeared. (20)
Stone Siren - With Arsul, a song of Despair, inspired by Sue's inability to compose on paper while underwater. Arranged for the band, with an optional bridge using two extra violins in place of harp and cello. (19)
Fast Train to Zue - a song to wake up by, feisty dance music. contains an "antivox earsplitter" (traded)
(September 17, 940) Dragon's Egg - A symphony of Terror. Similar to "Toccata and Fugue" J.S. Bach, portions of "Rite of Spring", I. Stravinsky, and "Approaching Menace", mu-ziq. Arranged for the band with void mantis and antivox in place of harp. (20)
Banner Bless You - a humorous song of celebration for Banner's Day. (19)
Simurgh Feather - The themes are gentleness, peace, and warmth. It is meant to satisfy a troubled heart. Inspired by Sue's time in The Void. Given to Pomilla the green piper. (22)
Sunspot - A conflict between two forces represented by two drums. In the first half of the song, the forces fight, and then in the second half, they come into harmony. Inspired by the struggle between void and magic. Given to Vol Telloan. (22)
Look Up - Meant to evoke an ascension to the heavens. It begins low, slow, and brooding, gradually becoming higher, faster, and more energetic, with a serene coda. Inspired by the voyage from Shem to the white moon. Given to Glimmena of the Reaches. (18)
Keymaster and Gatekeeper - Sue created this at Jack's vesting. It a compositional oddity, more like a toolbox of techniques than an actual song. It lacks character when played on its own, but is peculiarly suited to harmonize with other music. When performed simultaneously with any other piece by a competent composer or improviser, it enhances and brings out the features of the other piece. (adds +7 to all other performers, once per set)
Variations (unfinished) - a dry sequence of six pieces which systematically demonstrate contrapunctal techniques (in the style of J.S. Bach's Art of Fugue)
