Elven powers work two ways: first, when a group of elves lives in an area, they begin to dominate life there, shaping the environment around them simply by existing. Second, the way they live their lives determines the sort of abilities they develop as they grow up.

For Stonedelver elves, the stones come alive & shape into the beautiful cavernous cities they dwell in. Underground flora & fauna flourish, providing beautiful landscapes no surface dweller can imagine, galleries & gardens unimaginable.

Stonedelver elves tend to be tougher than other elves.

Individual powers relate to the earth & stone.

Stonedelver elves tend to prefer stability. As such, their families tend to focus on the same craft forever--one family as warriors, another as masons, another as farmers, another as scholars. This tends to keep things focused, they believe. When a young man marries a young woman, he takes up her family's craft. Because many crafts require a lifetime of training, Stonedelver elves have a lot of arranged marriages.

Stonedelver elves are constantly struggling with other underground denizens: Flint dwarves struggle with them for territory, greater bats & cave goblins raid their farms, gondals use up precious metals in their area, etc. For this reason, they tend to seal off their more precious caverns with magic & faith, so that they can be unmolested & flourish.

Like all elves, they bear an inherent superior attitude that other races usually deem as arrogant. Furthermore, all elven societies are matrilineal.
