Description Sriccans are anthropomorphic shrews. They are short, about 3' tall, with normal coloration in their fur (usually brown, grey, or black), with small eyes and spike-like teeth.
Procreation With each other, quite often throughout the year.
Magic One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon.
Special Powers Sriccans have incredibly fast metabolisms, which makes them very quick and voraciously hungry. Their hearing and sense of smell is quite sharp.

Sriccans have venom in the grooves of their spike-like teeth, which do not get replaced if they are lost. This venom is can be deadly to other beings, but to sriccans, it can have medicinal properties.

Sriccans can use limited echolocation to identify their surroundings, but it does not have good range for hunting.

Sriccans can enter a state of torpor, which is similar to hibernation, for several months per year if they need to, but they only do this if they cannot maintain their massive diet. During torpor, their bodies shrink, including their bones and organs.
Weaknesses Sriccans have bad eyesight. Euphony can confuse them. Sriccans desperately need to eat a lot, or they weaken quickly.
Culture Sriccans have a very solitary existence, unless they are mating or raising children. Sriccans build burrows in their forested homes where they store massive amounts of food and hide from their enemies, and they have a miserly reputation because of it.

Sriccans are also very territorial. This territorialism has lead them to become incredibly war-like, and their individual burrows become like small fortresses. They have been known to build them in water, under snow, and even in dark caves. A few rare sriccans have even built them up in the canopies.

When sriccans start mating, they generally don't stop until their short lives are over. Indeed, a sriccan can get pregnant days after giving birth, and they often do. They have upwards of ten children per year, with a very short gestation period.
