Shatak is the heir to a very long line of ogres who swore fealty to the One-Winged God during the Eschatonic Wars. His father before him, and his father, and so on, back hundreds of generations, serve the Order of the Blightwind. Shatak is one of the three surviving Knights of the Blightwind. He does not know the Marshall's secret. He simply knows the hunt is still on for the former Champion.

His sigil was chosen by the first of his ancestors to serve the One-Winged God, supposedly because he destroyed a bridge to keep opposing forces from catching his unit.
