On Palhur, a horned serpent has antlers and can become invisible. It brings rain and makes noise similar to thunder. It is as large around as a tree and has a blazing diamond crest on its head. It has rings or spots of color along its body, and these mark its life and its heart, but only the seventh is vulnerable--no other part of its body is vulnerable. Its diamond lures men in and its breathe is poisonous and foul, and to see the sint holo asleep is to welcome death upon one's family. They live in water and area the enemies of thunderbirds.

On Ranu, they have ram's horns and brings peace and bounty.
