Description At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, dragons grow to be a three-headed serpent with sienna scales and nine eyes, three tails, and thirty tongues. Some eventually become singular draconic entities of various forms.
Procreation Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching.
Esoterica Sienna dragons have absorbed divine energies in intense quantities, including the Law. All other energies are possible, but in equal, balanced quantities.
Special Powers

Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:

  • Level 1: Holyflame, hellfire, and dragonfire from respective heads
  • Level 2: Cannot be unbalanced or unsteady
  • Level 3: Immunity to holy and unholy energies
  • Level 4: Immunity to control
  • Level 5: Scale grants bearer impecccable balance
  • Level 6: All-absorbing barrier (absorbs all esoteric energies)
  • Level 7: Pronounce judgment, once per year
  • Level 8: Planar gate at will
  • Level 9: Sense imbalances
  • Level 10: Alter vital status (resurrect, kill, or create wraith)
  • Level 11: Summon judge
  • Level 12: Create local esoteric equilibrium (10 mile radius)

All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects.

Other common powers include eradicate blasphemy, break curse, rename, and instill lesson.

Alternate Forms Sienna dragons will take the form of an aldar or shepadem if need be.
Weaknesses Blasphemy can kill them.
Subspecies Divine dragons are dragons who have absorbed so much divine energy, they are now divine themselves. These dragons leave the realm of Shem to become Dragon Gods on other worlds.
Culture

Sienna dragons live in the highest mountains in the world, secluded and intent upon studying creation. They meet thrice per year to mate, and from these unions, one in three eggs will be kept and raised by a trio of parents in partnership and study. The other two will be either left to fend for themselves or granted unto the Arbiter to be raised as a priest. Of those they raise in study, one in three is a sienna dragon. The other two will be raised as another kind of dragon (never fuligin) and eventually sent to a community of their own kind. Once a sienna dragon grows old, they will find their way to the Arbiter, who judges their life and kills them, makes them undead, or reincarnates them.

Some sienna dragons choose to travel and study. These are called kren-xrash, and they bring back wonders and horrors in equal measure.
