Description

Shishigas are small, naked white skinned monsters with fur along their backs and the backs of their legs. Their young are called leshenkas, and they look like white, piebald pigmen.

Procreation

Follows the mother, with other goblins. Halfbreeds may occur outside of race.

Magic

One in five million have soul magic. None have heart magic. Mind magic, body magic, & void are possible. Faith is not uncommon.

Special Powers

Shishigas are immune to the cold. They become weaker as it gets warmer. They have an affinity with winter wolves & can see well in the dark night. Leshenkas are the same as their parents, but weaker. They have an affinity for freezing cold waters, where they drown victims and comb out their long, white fur.

Weaknesses

Heat harms them.

Culture

Shishigas are callous, harsh beings that live brutal lives dominated by tribal shamans that use sacrifice & scare tactics to control them. Like most goblins, they are a congregative race, but they tend to do so grudgingly. Many shishigas are loners, living alone in cold, arctic woods.

At the Rite of Midwinter, the leshenkas of a clan will be left in the wild cold during the coldest night of the year. They will be told to find the nearest fire and walk into it. Those that can do so and live will pass the Rite and begin their growth spurt and feasting period, growing into full shishigas.

Shishigas are referred to as Winter's Children, or the Algakuk, by themselves and other goblins.
