Description Men or women clad in heavy robes of stone, with skin of deep taupe hue. Hair is heavy, curled locks of black; eyes are vibrant colors of any hue. They shine faintly or brightly depending on their will.
Procreation Only with each other to make new shields.
Esoterica Hegnh and comfort resonance empower them, and they wield both. Blood and flesh energies are common, as are divine energies. Mana is not unheard of, but always of the holy spheres. Other powers vary, but never unholy.

Special Powers A shield has between ten and fifty powers drawn from hegnhic and emotional resonant energies. These include but are not limited to bonding, choosing, shielding, instilling comfort, empathy, repair, defend area, returning, cleansing, building, shaping, sanctuary, creating home, fashioning, unifying, work ethic, etc.
Weaknesses Corrupted flux can destroy them.
Culture Shields of the hearth are beings that protect the Hieron and other holy planes from invasion.
