With a human's head, the body of a bull, & the wings of an eagle, the shedu is a holy immortal animal kept for ages by white faithful people to guard homes & palaces.
Three different groups have the clearest connection to the shedu: faithful of home, faithful of the sun, & faithful of healing. Home faithful respect the creatures natural tendency to protect the dwellings they are kept in, & the fact that keeping one will protect one from invaders. Sun faithful respect the animal because its natural habitat lies within their deserts. The healing faithful respect the beast because it is a species descendent of the Divine Creation of the Father of Healing, the
Lammasu. Because of this, the shedu also has minor healing powers.
The greatest of the shedu, Siddhu, first of his kind, dwellt in the land of the shemir. He fought for the shemir protecting the Palace of the Alpha Shemir in the end days of First Shem & gained immortality for the rest of his kind by reward from the Father of Creation for sacrificing himself to prevent the First
Gorgon bull from slaying the Alpha Shemir.
Though they have a human head, they cannot speak like a human does, however, they can communicate via telepathy & images.
