Description At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, sepia dragons grow to be a lithe curve, in sine shape, with 12 sections, symbolising 12 months in the year. They are able to change with the weather. On the dragon's back are little, uninterrupted, regular fins. The head has a long mane, beard, prominent eyes, crest on nose, but no horns. The jaw is large and usually opened, with a long, thin tongue; they always have a jewel in their mouths.
Procreation Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching.
Esoterica Sepia dragons have accumulated great amounts of temporal aether. Fundamental aether, winds aether, earthpower, and sol angelic aether are also very common. Divine energies are very common. Kor, mana, shebv heya, gebvel, recursion, paradox, and karma are also common. Msawhat is impossible. Other powers vary.
Special Powers

Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:

  • Level 1: Stasis gas breath weapon
  • Level 2: Immunity to senescence
  • Level 3: Immunity to losing track of time
  • Level 4: Immunity to paralysis
  • Level 5: Scale slows bearer's aging
  • Level 6: Timeless barrier
  • Level 7: Stop time, once per year
  • Level 8: Space travel
  • Level 9: Prescience
  • Level 10: Know history of object
  • Level 11: Summon samaya
  • Level 12: Timestorm

All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects.

Other common powers include review history (one mile zone), stop time, step outside time, and three-second reset.

Alternate Forms Sepia dragons sometimes take the form of a watcher.
Weaknesses Msawhat corrupts and harms them. Littany metal will harm them.
Subspecies Eternal dragons have accumulated so much temporal aether that they slip outside the timestream. They appear the same, but they cannot exist within the continuity of time and never age.
Culture Sepia dragons lay their eggs in dry caves in rocky mountains. Two parents raise the young as part of a tribe, and the tribe is led by an elder dragon. The older a sepia dragon, the more political power they wield in the tribe. Sepia dragons connect with other locals to support them, but they always keep part of their lives separate, never allowing other beings to move through time without great need. They build their hoards carefully.
