On this night, the second emperor of Paurek killed himself after his eldest son was slain in battle. His daughter's husband, poised to take over, came to the emperor to tell of the slain son and to report another sorrow - they had lost their child. As well as this, the emperor also learned that his mother had died when her caretakers came to him. Overwhelmed with too many sorrows, he leapt from the highest tower and stained the walls of his castle. To honor this tragedy, Paurekis seal their homes - locking doors and windows - and sing by low light of the saddest of nights. They share a special soup and resolve to wake to a better day. |

Day of Truth: A day the fey tell true tales. Honored especially by those who honor the true stories as part of their fey tradition, but embraced by many fey, this is a day to tell the truth, to speak true tales, to recount histories and current events, and to share news. It is a day not of honesty but of telling stories that were or are true. It is a day of reporting tales, not of making them up. Those who honor this day do so with well proven tales, known tales, not things once kept secret. |
