Once the First Beast, child of Echidna, saved by Mother Shem, molded into her Twin Sister, Ruiz is an artificial world. She has five continents, four oceans, and one moon.

Ruiz, the Twin Sibling, is the smaller sibling of Shem. From Shem, it is almost always visible in the night sky, and sometimes during the day. It is a bluish world with tinges of red and green. Until the Shemmish physically went there, it was believed, because of strange atmospheric interference, that Ruiz was a small asteroid, but what was being seen was its moon. It has one moon, Oro, which is golden in hue and home to an asterian colony. Its atmosphere is breathable, and it has been colonized by Shem.

Before the Shemmish arrived, it was a wild land of giant ostrich-horses, living presences that altered the landscape, and huge, violent beetle-men.The people living there are called Ruizanos. After colonization, the world became more visible on Shem because of mystic alterations. For this reason, the world is also known as the Liar. The nephesh is very deceptive and cunning. She is jealous of her twin sister, Shem, and she hates the lost nephesh, Echidna, with a passion--though perhaps no longer. Ruiz is not her real name--she hides her real name from all. Ruiz is what the Shemmish colonists called her.
