Romana and her sister Ursula grew up on Jesenya as the children of two doctors. They saw them die of the plague when Romana and Ursula were 16 and 14 respectively, and both were taken in by a Dhunic noble who funded their further educations. Both went into medicine and proved to be quite talented. Romana became a surgeon and joined the Order of the Red Cross. Now, she has been charged with trying to discover the source of the elven disease.
