When the Lost Gods joined Shem's pantheon, they toured the world, much like the gods did at the start of Shem. In the jungles of Vimala, all of the animals turned out to meet the various gods as they came through. The Elephant came out and strutted before all of the gods, and many of them laughed at its posturing. It played the fool, and the gods all disregarded it.
But the Owl, who was guiding the Wisewoman, spoke to her and told her that despite its posturing, the Elephant was truly an intelligent, noble, and powerful being. The Wisewoman took this counsel and went to the Elephant, asking it questions. Before long, she realized the Owl was right, and she had taken the Elephant as her vahana.
Now, Ro-und is serving the Lord of Metis as a vahana on her quest.
