| Esoterica | As beings of fate and heavenly light, djinn have an affinity for the arts of fate and heavenly light. They also wield damaskian powers, solar aether, wind aether, rubedian aether, hegnh, radiance, Foundation, symbolism, and karma. Infernal energies, flux, and fortune are impossible for them to wield. |
| Special Powers | Raphaels, unlike most djinn, cannot transform themselves with any inherent power. Their touch can turn water into healing waters if they stir it, empower a staff of dogwood to harm demons and abominations and undead, play a trumpet that will call upon holy powers, and sing songs that lift the spirit. They are inherently skilled with music. Their breath can resurrect someone once per year. They can fly. Raphaels form contracts with mortals seeking aid. These contracts require the mortals do a profound good deed in exchange for powerful protections, unless the mortal is in dire danger, in which case the agreement is suspended. Protection from evil is the most common form of service they provide. Because of their origins, they are able to see and communicate with angels. |

| Nations | There are two nations of raphaels: those who live on Bright Isle and those who live in the deep deserts. The latter are a small community bound to seal away a powerful demon, who will not see the light until the end of Shem. |
| Culture | On the 24th day of the eighth month, the raphaels were created by the Mother of Light. They were sent to the world on specific missions to save some of her people, and in exchange for this service, they were given powers to protect others. They live in harmonious communities where everyone's needs are met. Music and song are always heard, and fishing is a common practice. Raphaels are known to protect the blind, travelers, sailors, pilgrims, nurses, physicians, matchmakers, and musicians especially, because of their common interests or frequent interactions. They like to arrange happy meetings, minister weddings, and study religions, and they are known for their mastery of langauges. |
