Rakhi was born in the deserts, but early in his life, he went to Dabusen with his family to try to start over after drought brought ruin to their herds. Rakhi found it hard to keep the old religion of his homeland while surrounded by exotic milieus of Unbuloo. He drifted, and his parents worried. He ended up in trouble, but nothing huge. He went to university and studied history and religion. He graduated, but he never pursued his studies further. Instead, he took to selling oxen and cattle. His success waxed and waned, and eventually, his aimlessness brought him to the exotic animal trade. He discovered yatagarasus, and he began trying to capture them and sell them. This took him back to Tara'hin, where he was arrested for trying to capture a protected animal. He was put on trial and facing 30 years hard labor. In his prison cell, he prayed.
In the morning, a yatagarasu came to him and broke his chains. The guards saw and bowed--the sun crows had chosen Rakhi. They sent him away, and he swore fealty to the yatagarasu. He found their trees and took to serving them as best he could. Within a few years, he was given a golden egg by a figure in the glowing dawn sun. Not knowing what it was, he went to the nearest temple and inquired. The imam told him six tales, each ending with a figure receiving a similar reward, and then he bid the man sleep there in the temple until the next noon. Rakhi did so, and in his dreams the Goddess appeared to him and asked him to Keep a piece of her Paradox for her. Honored, he accepted, and the next day, he set out and returned to his tree.
Recently, the holy man
Huzred Darash came to him and called him to service. With the blessing of the crows, Rakhi followed.
