| Description | At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, dragons grow to be three headed, three mouthed, and six eyed winged lizards with beautiful, angelic platinum scales. Their eyes and mouths do not necessarily evenly split across each head. Some become glowing wyrms in a miasma of light. |
| Procreation | Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching. |
| Esoterica | Platinum dragons absorb the emotional resonance of hope, radiance, and sometimes Elysian energy. Dumaqu, Foundation, and to a lesser extent heavenly light and hegnh. Winds, greenlight, sol angelic, and pattern aether are more common than other forms of aether, but none are very common. Kor and yahas are the most common forms of poioumenon, besides mana, and divine energies are very common. No evil energies are possible. Positive emotions are very common, including love, creativity, compassion, and joy. Psionic energy is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Dragons gain new powers as they accumulate more energies. At each stage of growth, they gain a new ability, usually culminating with the twelfth ability when they accumulate . The usual progression of powers is as follows:
All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects. Other common powers include empowering touch, summon flowers, instill hope, empathy, and shield the weak. |
| Alternate Forms | Platinum dragons almost always take the alternate form of a human being when needed. |
| Weaknesses | Despair resonance and msawhat harm them. |
| Subspecies | Grace dragons appear to be glowing wyrms in a miasma of light. Their breath weapons are platinum flames that burn with radiance and emotion, and they can grant wishes at will. They are created when a dragon absorbs more hope resonance than most. |
| Culture | Platinum dragons live in deep northern forests where they have small communities of interconnected families. They lay eggs in great gullies in the forest, by streams, and they protect and raise the young together. When a young dragon begins accumulating power, they give them the choice of what they want to become, guiding them no matter what they choose. In some communities, they do not allow the evil dragon choices, but some do, in the hopes that they will be able to guide and train them against the impulses their energies create. This has a moderate success rate, depending on the energy. Usually, if a young dragon wants an evil energy, they run away before having to choose. In areas where energies are limited, their choices are limited. When platinum dragons reach maturity (as platinum dragons), they are given the choice of what task they wish to fulfill in their communities. Any who are not platinum dragons are given the choice to remain or to go find their own people. Those who remain usually end up leaving later, though some remain to old age. All platinum dragons mate in polygamous groups of three to seven. Platinum dragons remain active even into their elder years, usually slowing down but never stopping until they die. |
