| Description | Pesperians are tall, thin beings with shimmering purple or pale blue hair and skin that changes hue with the phase of the cycle they are in. |
| Procreation | Follows the mother. |
| Esoterica | Pesperians can use any esoteric art except msawhat, which corrupts and destroys them. Faith, magic, and poioumenonic arts are common. |
| Cycle | Pesperians are attuned to fortune. They live in a cycle of good to bad fortune, based on the day they were born. It follows a seven month pattern that varies based on whether how lucky the day they were born on was. Their calendar uses a 28 day-month for every month, with the left over days of the year making up an extra 1-2 day 14th month. (The rates of luck are very low, low, below average, moderate, good, great, and impeccable.)
The seven month cycle starts on the day they were born. The pattern is

| Special Powers | All pesperians can sense danger. Their skin absorbs fortune and reflects other powers. They have a cyclic life where their fortune changes often. When their fortune is good, they take the high die in all rolls. When it is great, the player/GM can narrate their successes. When it is impeccable, they can narrate even the most unlikely of successes. When their luck is moderate, they take high die on every seventh roll. When it is below average, they roll normally. When it is low, they take the low die on every seventh roll. When it is terrible, they take the low die all the time. |
| Weaknesses | During their periods of very bad luck, random accidents can kill them. Msawhat can corrupt and destroy them. |
| Culture | A group of halflings known as the Pesperes lived in a small community in Lyrilla away from the other halflings. These halflings had incredible luck that allowed extraordinary things to happen to them. And then, one day, it ran out. A lunarian ship crashed into their community and the destruction wiped out most of the Pesperes and the lunarians. Those that survived turned to the Gambler Divine for salvation and were transformed into a new species. Pesperians live in the same community, avoiding the msawhat-infested ruins of what they call Pesperis Home or Pesperia. They now call their nation Urisia, which means "Vestige of Fortune." The pesperians have small communities centered on the number seven, which rules their lives. All councils, companies, even families must have things, people, positions, and more in multiples of seven (exponents of are better, or just seven). These small farming communities are structured such that they are led by small councils of elected leaders. The communities are tight-knit and take care of one another, preparing for the bad times when they can. People are well attuned to their luck cycles and remain aloof or even take a leave during their times of low fortune. Childen are cared for collectively, but with a primary caretaking being their immediate and close extended families. No more than seven generations will live in the same household, and never just six. Schools are run but not essential parts of the community--families educate the young more often than not. Trades and crafts are passed down through families. Trading with other communities is common. |
