Background
Born in western Littany City, Paz lived in the floorspace of a large school compound in coastal Juazan neighborhood. She lost her family at a young age and found herself surviving through thievery, but eventually was taken in by Precept Sisters whose focus was on the Eleventh Precept ("sing the dawn").

She learned lute from them, using a specially crafted lute, one of her few family heirlooms, she calls a mouse-lute (slightly higher tones to match their voices). She joined the Sisters when they went to Ruiz to spread the word of Basalt, but soon found herself in need of a little solitude. She lives in a small cottage not far from where the Sisters settled on Ruiz.
