| Culture | A group of djinn fled underground during the wars with the angels, and the Father of Stone took pity on them. He offered them the chance to dwell there permanently as olitiau, and they accepted. Thus the first tribe of olitiau were formed. From then on, they became nomads within the Grand Expanse until one day, a group decided to settle in part of the caves. This continued until 24 tribes were formed, including the first, which still roams the Expanse. Olitiau tribes honor sight. They wish to be able to see beyond the world, and as such, they buy pieces of mortals' vision in the hopes to gain new vision powers. Those with the most powerful visions are the leaders of their tribes. They often take on many different visual powers, from seeing the future to seeing souls to seeing the invisible.
