A horselike beast with finned legs, snout-like mouth, one single, fiery eye, forelegs that are armlike, a distorted body with a thin, weak neck. It has no skin. Black blood pulsates through yellow veins, its pale sinews & powerful muscles throb as its heart beats arrhythmically.

Its breath sickens livestock, wilts crops, rips the water from the air, & gives people bubonic plague. It needs water to survive, but cannot bear running water. A nuckalavee despises elves & will go out of its way to kill them.

The smell of burning seaweed reminds it of the destruction of its ancestral home in the seas, & this act will send it into a berzerk rage that can only be soothed by the song of a sirine.
