| Description | At birth, all dragons look like large, pink worms. At maturity, nickel dragons grow to be owl-headed, nickel-plated lizards with huge hind legs and tiny forelegs. |
| Procreation | Dragons mate with each other only. Without intense supernatural interference, half-dragons are an impossibility. Dragons lay one to three eggs at a time. Upon hatching, a dragon immediately begins absorbing background energies. All dragon eggs are filled with pure, liquid draconic energy, which sustains the baby dragon upon hatching. |

All dragons accumulate energies by absorbing them naturally from the area around them. As such, they must carefully cultivate their lairs to provide the right kinds of energies, hence they hoard appropriate objects. Other common powers include telekinesis, pure psionics, memory draw, empowered by feat, and instill wisdom. |

| Subspecies | Wyrms of the Long Path have accumulated more psionic and radiant energies than most, becoming bound to the concept of the Long Path, a journey of awakening and learning. | Culture | Nickel dragons live in large, sprawling communities in desert mountains. They lay their eggs in shallow caves, where the best suited to caring for the young tend to them. Every dragon in the tribe does what they are best suited to. Those best suited to gathering for the hoard are called kren-oel. They make longstanding and complex alliances with other locas for services and treasure, and they offer wisdom to any who seek it out, for a price. Elder nickel dragons are revered for their wisdom and experiences and are often elected as leaders of their tribes. Elections happen every millennium. |
