| Description | Nataxi appear to be anthropomorphic wasps (or hornets, which are a subset of wasp). They have 2 pairs of wings, stingers that double as ovipositors (thus, only females have stingers), sparse clumps of thick hairs, and hard exoskeletons that range from brown to black to yellow and red. They have compound eyes and ocelli. Their hindquarters are slightly flattened. The males have 13 segments on their antennae, and the females 12. They are about 7' to 9' tall. Their middle sections hold their six legs (2 arms, 4 legs) and wings. |
| Procreation | Follows the mother. |
| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Nataxi are very dangerous. Their stingers are incredibly painful. They have pheromones they use for communication, especially raising alarms which will call the swarm. They have high endurance and decent senses. The most dangerous breed of nataxi, the eastern hornet breed, can fling flesh-melting poisonous pheromones that serve as an alarm call. Larvae can spin a silk cap that they eat. |
| Weaknesses | Creative magic or faith can harm them. |
| Culture | Nataxi usually live in huge hives with one fertilized queen and thousands of workers. They build a combed nest and live out the four stages of arthropodal animalman life. They are known to hunt giant spiders and intelligent creatures. They have no mercy. There are solitary breeds, though, who lay eggs in prey, build mud bests or use burrows, and seek to leave devastation in their wake. All nataxi hate hivati. |
