| Procreation | Follows the mother. |
| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Narasimha are incredibly strong, agile, and intimidating. They have good nightvision, hearing, and sense of smell. The females are well camouflaged, but maned males are at a disadvantage. The maned males, however, have an edge on intimidation. Because narasimha males sometimes need to hunt more than guard, some tribes or groups castrate the males young so they do not grow manes. Narasimha are known for their noble personalities. They are incredibly brave. They sleep with their eyes open. True narasimha have very sharp claws. They are capable of berzerking so intensely that only prayer can stop them. They can wield the sunlight into waves of heat to protect their lairs. Snow breed narasimha are actually fearless. They are impossibly cheerful, without doubt, and powerful. They always know which way is east. The milk of female snow narasimha heals. They are attuned to both the earth and the sky, and they dwell in the mountains. Their presence restores harmony, their roar is the sound of emptiness, courage, and truth. It can bring about spiritual awakening and kill 7 dragons at once. They are the embodiment of primordial bliss, and though they cannot fly, their feet never touch the ground. They are part of the wheel of joy. Yali breed narasimha are known for their great strength. 'Kanian breed narasimha are known to be impervious to weapons and have very sharp claws. All narasimha are known to dominate other felinians, except tigrisians. |
| Weaknesses | Moon magic or faith can harm them. They have low stamina and weak skulls. Manes can cause them to overheat. |
| Culture | Narasimha are very social. They live in prides comprised of related females, their offspring, and a few adult males. The males are called a coalition. Some are not part of a pride, but live as nomads, singly or in pairs--usually related males. They raise cubs communally. The females hunt, the males guard the territory. The hunters are known to eat on the site of their kill, so the males handle the food the hunters bring back, sharing with the cubs. The whole pride will defend against intruders, and their skill during the fighting can determine their rank thereafter. Outside females are never tolerated. The males use their manes in displays to attract mates. Females synch their cycles so that they will become pregnant at the same time, so that their children will be as brothers and sisters. During a hunt, the narasimha prefer to strangle or smother prey, though they have ample natural and made weapons. They may switch between prides and nomadic life, though. Females find it harder to reenter pride life than males. Unlike lions, narasimha do not kill the males and children of a pride they take over. Primitive narasimha move homes regularly to stay away from danger. Narasimha rest a lot, having low stamina. They are active at dusk for social time and grooming, and they hunt at night. Social time involves head rubbing. Narasimha are enemies of hyenas. Historically, many narasimha have been enslaved for bloodsports. Free narasimha in other societies tend to be warriors (especially the women), guards, and dancers. River breed narasimha live by rivers and are eaters of intelligent mortals. Dabusenese breed narasimha are known to be inbred. True narasimha are protectors, kingmakers, and priests. They believe firmly that the Divine is everywhere the sun touches. Their unique body type makes them somewhat special, allowed to act in situations other narasimha are not. |
