Mephistos appear to be human-like beings with animal features, but can shape change into certain animal forms (see above). They also have some inherent powers over infernal energies, creating demonfire once per year and vanishing into shadow at will. They can fly, have great strength and speed, and can see souls. They are exceptional liars and have the ability to terrify with their presence when they wish.

Mephistos can create binding contracts with mortals, but only if the mortal is already corrupt. They never corrupt an innocent, for the soul of an innocent would kill them. Instead, they buy and devour the souls of evil mortals who wish for more power or something out of their reach, which they can grant through infernal powers.
