Mathair was daughter to Etaine Ban Idrilus, the Kith Manifest, who was taken by the Wild Hunt and warped into a Crone of the Uneelie Court. Mathair took up the mantle of regency of the kith, and she has ruled with grace and strength ever since. The kith are the closest fay related to the elves, their closest mortal brethren, and as such, they have strong bonds in the elven communities. Mathair is one of the few faeries unafraid of the Faerie Queen's wrath, and as such, the two are both friends and rivals. Mathair poses no real threat to The Queen, but she does wield great power and authority.

Loyal to the Matriarch Divine, Mathair and her people have long been involved in the Divine families. Tuatha has, with permission from The Queen, put her resources into aiding the Elder of the Blood Restorative in his quest and allying with the Crone of Lavender.
