A former opera singer turned priest, Marlade is a staunch traditionalist. He firmly believes the New School, pop music, folk music, & anything other than old fashioned art music is really just not music. He especially hates gnomish music.

He was recently chosen to be the new high priest in Maraddon after the old one died. Since then, he has gone on record denouncing everyone from Dionysus Berrywight to Jack Crane to Bartleby the Rogue to Fane Crow to Albert Renkarr to Katzenheim (especially Katzenheim, "That dreadful little bugger doesn't writes music, he brutalizes it. And that machine of his is an abomination. If he were a member of this church, I'd excommunicate him. I'm of half a mind to have him brought in under Temple Law anyway. All gnomes should be rounded up & deafened.").

Needless to say, he is a controversy all to himself.
