Origins

As decisions are made, reality splits into branches of possibilities. Usually, these branches avoid one another throughout the universe, leaving versions of reality separate, but sometimes, if decision trees bring realities closer to one another, they converge, creating paradoxical conflicts as different realities, equal in objectivity, smash together. From this forms manifestations, beings of impossible colors and forms that begin to consume both realities at once, merging them together into nonsensical states.

Description

No being, mortal nor inmortal, may perceive a manifestation’s true form, as its true form is not possible within the version of reality either exists within. They are instead perceived as best the mortal or inmortal is capable of, an approximation, that usually renders the manifestation within their perception as being brownish-purplish-yellowish sludge in a flowing mound with floppy, oozing arms and legs. Basically, a mud monster made of chaotic, solid light.

Procreation

Manifestations create new manifestations by consuming mortals and turning them into new manifestations, forcing together millions of iterations of that person into one mud monster-ish being.

Powers

Manifestations perceive the closest 10 million versions of reality at once.

Amalgamation

The touch of a manifestation merges the closest 10 million versions of anything they interact with. This turns all matter - air, water, the ground, plants, rocks, people - into an impossible sludge monster. The only way to resist this is to assert one’s True Name within the present reality.

Singularity

Some rare manifestations achieve 10 million versions of themselves that are close enough together that they have a semblance of clarity. These extremely dangerous beings are capable of controlling their forms and being more selective in their amalgamations and actions.

If a singularity forms, all nearby manifestations will be under its control.

They occur about once in every 10^googolplex^googolplex^googolplex versions of reality.

Weaknesses

They can be destroyed or banished through many esoteric arts, but they have no specific weak points. If it will destroy or banish any version of the forms within the manifestation, it has a chance of working.

Behavior

There are no manifestation nations or cohesive, collective identities. They have no culture. They are 10 million versions of themselves at once, many of which contradict one another, leading only to madness and a driving desire to alleviate their internal contradictions. This drives them to seek other versions of themselves or others to amalgamate, which only worsens things. Thus, they consume and amalgamate constantly in an unstoppable wave.

In the unheard of instances where a singularity forms, all manifestations will be driven by its will. This is completely unpredictable.

Esoterica

Manifestations are beings of pure paradox. Nothing is true, everything is possible, or at least, as much is possible as is possible within 10 million of the nearest versions of reality.

Religion

If a manifestation has enough clarity to believe anything and not 10 million different things at once, it is a singularity, and therefore, it is beyond even the Divine in power and scope.

Gender

Ten million variations of gender at once is actually the textbook definition of genderqueer.

Outside View

Those who are aware of manifestations rightfully fear them, for they could very well destroy 10 million versions of reality at once.

Notables

Estimated Populations

Unknown.

Sample Stats

Stats vary not just by individual, but by moment. They may roll from one stat one round and a totally different stat the next, with no rhyme or reason.
