| Description | Magabaks appear to be anthropomorphic baboons. They have long arms. Their faces are dog-like and downsloping, and they have strong jaws, close-set eyes, thick fur, short tails, and hairless behinds. Some of the males have manes. |
| Procreation | Follows the mother. |
| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Magabaks are strong, smart, swift baboon-men with a great capacity for knowledge. They all have manners of speaking that are confusing and intentionally deceptive, and they are known for their skill at fighting. Powerful magabaks are said to be able to actual eat the souls of victims, while most just confuse and berate their victims. Magabaks live on a cycle of reincarnation: Virile Life (simple), Deceiver Life (social), Souleater Life (evil). Those who reach souleater lives become Xedania's servants and harvest souls for her, until they die and the souls they ate become new magabaks while they become her saints. |
| Weaknesses | True magic or faith can harm them. |
| Culture | Magabaks serve the Three Lives Cycle. They have intricate hierarchies, usually matrilineal, that are determined via vocal exchanges when the Life Stage of an individual is not known. They have three ranks: flange (Virile), troop (Deceiver), and congress (Souleater). Each tribe is comprised of related females and their mates and children, and the hierarchy is determined by which Stage they are in. |
