Lure

A lure is someone who has the power to attract someone and enslave them, steal their souls or lifeforce, and otherwise inflict pain and suffering on them. Lures are users of sin energy, created by committing fundamental violations.

Sins

Though sin is viewed as a thing determined by religions, the infernal energy of sin is derived from what happens to a soul, regardless of the person's religion, when they commit a specific, horrible act that the universe itself is repelled by. These acts include but are not limited to
  • Rape, sexual assault, or molestation
  • Unjustified murder, particularly mass murder or genocide
  • Kidnapping, imprisonment, or slavery
  • Breaking of a sacred vow for personal gain
  • Exploitation, oppression, colonialism, imperialism, and parasitism
  • Emotional or physical abuse
  • Use of one of the forbidden magics (esp. demonology, necromancy, hexology, hollow magic, etc.)
  • Polluting or befouling the environment unnecessarily
Or any act that traumatizes, ruins lives, or destroys the world without justification beyond personal gain.

Ritual of Violation

In order to become a lure, one must invoke the energies of sin and violation via a ritual that involves capturing someone, binding them in a circle of infernal power, and committing one of the above sins on them.

Attraction

Once the ritual is complete, lures have the ability to wield their sins in order to attract people or other living things. They have certain tools they use for this.

Perfume

The most common and potent tool for attraction is special perfume they can create. Using their own sweat and spit, the blood and tears of a victim, and a special phial made of cerise glass, they can create a perfume that gives them between +1 and +9 to attracting a target.

Silk

The wearing of silk stained with the blood of a victim gives them the power to glamour themselves. Robes or scarves are most common.

Glamour

Glamouring works much the same as fairy glamour, except their trigger is winding special silk around themselves. They can hold a glamour until they sleep, are knocked unconscious, or remove the silk.

Slippers

If a lure wears silk slippers washed in the tears of a victim, it allows them to perform a special dance that can mesmerize anyone who sees it.

Dance

The dance of a lure wearing the appropriate slippers will mesmerize anyone who sees it for up to nine minutes.

Sex Magic

Lures have an infernal form of sex magic that allows them to take control of a target they are having sex with. Most use their mesmerizing power to draw someone into sex (making it rape), and then during climax, lock eyes with the target and pull their soul out.

Drugs

Addictive drugs are a common tool of lures. If they mix a drug with their perfume, it will make the target associate them with the drug and thus, do anything for them to get the drug, even if the drug comes from another source.

Addiction

Once a lure starts taking souls, they become addicted to it and cannot stop. If they make someone an addict (to drugs), they gain power every time the addict comes to them for more drugs, culmianting in the addict's death and the stealing of their soul.

Kidnapping

Once a target is mesmerized or lured in, lures often kidnap them for one of two purposes: enslavement or torture and degredation.

Enslavement

The act of enslaving someone (mundanely) gains a lure great power. If they use their arts to enslave someone, it does not give them power (but rather uses it). Lures usually have deep tries to the slave trade and sex trafficking.

Torture and Degradation

Torture or degradation of the target, they gain similar power to selling them into slavery. They can usually, however, milk this out for long periods of time, eventually leading to murder and soul-stealing.

Trade

Eventually, a lure gains the power to sell the souls they have been stealing, giving them access to incredible power.

Red Sapphire Guild

The Red Sapphire Guild is a major, international sex-trafficking and slave-trading ring that employs many, many lures. Most lures are members, and those who aren't are often exterminated by the Guild to eliminate competition. The Guild formalizes lures into a hierarchical structure all working for their leader, Madame Dulcelina.

Some variations include
  • Abbess: a religious leader who serves Beplesir and works as a lure.
  • Blue Mistress: a leader in an organization of lures.
