| Description | A loowk bowne appears to be a mortal woman with her eyes removed. |
| Corruption | A mortal woman doomed to be surrounded by calamities and unexplained tragedies, usually because their negligence or carelessness caused multiple deaths, dies without breaking the curse. |
| Esoterica | Loowk bowne are beings of misfortune, doom, and msawhat. They retain few of their powers from life, mostly reduced (5-8), and corrupted, unless they were powers of qi, the gates, or heavenly essences. In undeath, they sometimes learn new esoteric arts, including those of black nommos, pravum, certain kinds of aether, rending, entropy, blood energy, tear energy, negative emotional resonances, Damaskian powers, all forms of infernum, arnum, feirua, cacophony, spirits, flux, paradox, blasphemy, kor, and symbolism. |
| Special Powers | Loowk bowne cause unease in those who see them. They have an aura of calamity that extends about 300 feet around them. The further out from them, the lesser the misfortune that befalls people. The gaze of a loowk bowne will mesmerize a person, making them unable to avoid the inevitable disaster coming for them. A loowk bowne can make a river run the wrong direction if they cross it, make a mirror permanently reveal things from six miles away if it reflects their vacant eyes, make a flock of migrating birds get lost for a year and a day, make a child cry when it is happy and laugh when it is in pain, and make a musical instrument play the wrong notes if they haer it. When a loowk bowne hugs someone, they are absorbed into the undead. As they absorb people, they gain more powers, including powers to command with their voices, directing their calamitous aura intentionally, and new affects on the world around them. |
| Necromancy | A user of doom or msawhat or misfortune finds a woman who has accidentally caused incredible death, usually a massive calamity, and rips her eyes out to kill her after invoking their evil will (17). Manipulating the accident invalidates its status as an accident. To control a loowk bowne, one must either have one or both of her eyes or her heart. To summon one, one must invoke her name while burning the skin of a mamba. To capture one and draw her power, one must have both of her eyes in a jar of water and bone dust. |
| Sending | To send a loowk bowne, one must trick her into walking through the same door seven times within seven hours. They may also find a way to break their curse from life, which varies by individual. |
| Weaknesses | Loowk bowne are completely blind. Fortune and fate energies can harm them, and qi, the gates, and heavenly essences can send them. |
| Behavior | A loowk bowne lurks in the jungles near where she once lived, coming into the local communities at night to wreak havoc and seek people to feed off of. As they get stronger, they start to enslave others, turning them into weaker undead (shamblers usually) to serve them. |
| Dominion Culture | In the Fellwood Dominion, the loowk bowne are part of the ruling class, as one of them is one of the Tres Hermanas Muertas. |
| Other Dominions | Because their calamitous aura is so hard to control and causes problems everywhere, loowk bowne are rare in other Dominions. |
| Mortal Interactions | Loowk bowne cause panic and disarray among mortals, manipulating them into following them, making it seem like they bring safety, then hugging and absorbing them or turning them into slaves. |
| Afterlife | Because some are formed by accident, a loowk bowne may find redemption if a very powerful change of fortune, curse-breaking, or amount of heavenly essences or qi is used to send them. The gates energy sends them without redemption. Those who are sent without redemption spend millennia in the in-between before moving on to the Hells, the Grey Lands, or the Broken Obelisk. |
