Description Noverek appear to be female-assigned human-like beings that stand about 4'9" tall. They have short, badger-like tails; sharp claws; and a third eye in their foreheads. Their skin has a slight golden undertone, and they tend to have dark brown hair. They rarely wear clothing and are often unkempt in appearance.
Procreation Lecsap reproduce with metahumans, spirit folk, insinsi, and some inmortal nations to produce more lecsap.
Esoterica Lecsap are beings of nzwara murazvo, b'qar, and ancestral memory. They are also skilled users of blood energy, d'qiarsea, spirit energy, mystery, true shadow, tyvka vlast, kakraohy, mansam, menab'e, kor, mijjit, banaru, gemtkhereg, euergasia, hvittdogg, gebvel, Raesian energy, prasinofos, hasken fure, thorn energy, humors, lahab al'qalb, euphotonia, feirua, imperium, arnum, infernum, lhair, bailaohu jinghua, uafas, and momentum.
Special Powers Lecsap can take the form of any animal they drink the blood of, except for non-chordates.
Hunting Powers All lecsap can sense their prey with their third eye, seeing movement, heat, and weakness. They also have a heightened sense of smell, and while they are hunting (for at least an hour), they have a major bonus to endurance. If they stand still for half an hour, they will fade mostly from vision.
Weaknesses Hunger energy can kill them.
Culture

Thousands of years ago, a few tribes of the noverek began to drift away from their original culture after being geographically separated by an avallanche in the mountains. This small group grew more attuned to the wilderness and their animal symbols than other noverek, and they became the lecsap nation. Gone were the tribes that diferentiated them by animal symbols; each individual lecsap took on three animal symbols: a predator, a prey, and a third of their own personal choosing. Instead, the tribes of the lecsap developed merely around territories. There remain to this day six major tribes:

  • Északkeleti: northeastern
  • Délnyugati: southwestern
  • Központi: central
  • Északnyugati: northwestern
  • Délkeleti: southeastern
  • Keleti: eastern

Each tribe is led by a group of elders, each one with a favored symbolic apex predator (wolf, bear, or turul, usually). These elders are usually those who have aged out of being able to hunt. Most of the rest of the tribe are hunters, with only a handful of gatherers and other roles.

Lecsap children are raised by the entire tribe, with the gatherers and elders doing most of the work until the children are old enough to start learning to hunt. Those who show aptitude for a specific task as a gatherer might be drawn to that role, but most gatherers are simply those who aren't very good at hunting. Unlike other noverek, lecsap hunt in their animal form almost exclusively. They keep animal blood in special skins called nehéz bőrök (sing. nehéz bőr) in order to be able to transform each day. They do this by keeping their symbol animals as pets.

Their symbol predators are taken from the first predator animal they capture to keep as a pet on a hunt. Before this, they use the blood of another hunter's pet. Their symbol prey is the first prey animal they kill while using their first animal form. And their third symbol animal is the animal they dream of after they have the first two. They must tell their dreams each night to the tribe's priestesses, who interpret them and guide them until they have their third animal. If their third animal is also a predator, they will sometimes release their original animal in favor of it, as it feels more personal and close to them. Every tribe tends to have a large number of animals in it.

When they have their third animal, they are considered to be adults in the tribe and have the right to vote on major tribal issues. They are inducted into adulthood with a ceremony that bonds them by blood to their three animals.

Prey

Lescap take their second symbolic animal from the first animal they kill on a hunt while hunting as their first animal form (predator). In their tribes, the prey animal form and bond means they are related to all others with that animal. These can be any chordate animal that isn't livestock or a predator. Every prey has a special meaning to the tribe, but the most important ones are

  • Vaddisznó (Wild Boar): strong warrior
  • Bölény (Aurochs): wise leader
  • Fürj (Common Quail): compassionate helper
  • Piros Szarvas (Red Deer): insightful lover
  • Lidérc: powerful magic
Sisterhood As children of Shefere, lecsap have a kinship with al'ulkhua and valkyries that makes them instantly recognizable to one another. They also have deep cultural ties and respect for one another, though they don't often meet.
Religion The lecsap honor the triad of Nagy Vadásznő, the Great Huntress (crone); Shefere, Daughter of the Goddess (maiden); and the Goddess (mother). They also honor Vadállat, the Beast, who reflects the animals they hunt and bond with. Every tribe has a group of priestesses who are chosen for their third animal form (always the liderc). These priestesses lead the tribe in daily rituals of honoring one of their four Divines. Every day sees a sacrifice of blood from one of the priestess's pets and an offering from the tribal elders of some trinket made from an animal hunted the day before. Every hunt is dedicated to Nagy Vadásznő; every birth is dedicated to the Goddess; every mating is dedicated to the Daughter of the Goddess; and every animal form is a tribute to Vadállat.
Gender All lecsap are assigned female at birth, but gender is not very important to them. If a person wants to be seen as something else, they are welcomed to. Given how often they spend their time as animals, gender becomes a bit blurred anyway. There is no marriage among them; they mate as they please with any outsiders who visit.
Military The hunters of the tribe act as the warriors as well.
Other Nations Other nover nations view the lecsap as primitive or animalistic, embarrassing, or even deformed or deranged.
Outside View Most outside of Idangar have no idea the lecsap exist, but those nearby view them as dangerous savages, often thinking all nover are like them.
