Kraken reproduce with other kraken, with giant squids (making half-demon squids), & with other demons (following the mother).

Kraken are gigantic demonic squids. They create maelstroms at the bottom of which they create hell-gates. They devour whole ships full of people, or whales & giant sea creatures. They do, however, occassionally make deals--safety in exchange for tribute. They are immune to mundane fire or water. It is a 22 difficulty to summon or control one with darkness or water. They fear drying out, & will go to great lengths to avoid even a wind off a desert. Their ink is impenetrable by less than a 19 light or vision magic/faith.

Kraken dwell at the bottom of the oceans, awaiting prey. They hunger for nothing more than the flesh of mortals. They are the mortal enemies of the sea dragons, & are sometimes seen at open war with them on the high seas. Kraken do not take on well with others, & never interact with other kraken except to breed.
