Beliefs:
Wateni (Church of Diamonds, Bankers): Resources are to be used to improve oneself. It is no sin to be low of resource, but it is a sin to waste a resource. Whether you are rich or poor, you still have tools at your disposal. Use them, benefit, grow, expand, become great. What you do with your wealth is your choice, but do something with it. An economy only works if wealth moves. Economy is revered. Finance is revered. Save your wealth, but do not be afraid to utilize resource. Share your wealth when the investment is solid. Give a penny to a beggar if he will spend it on food, but not if he will waste it on drugs. Give a grand to a merchant if he is a worthy and skilled merchant, but not if he is a fool. Recognize worth when you see it and invest in it.
Afterlife:
Followers of the Diamond believe that when they die, they will reborn based on how worthy they were in life. The worthless (metaphysically) are born to poor families and must work their way out. The worthy (metaphysically) are born to worthy families and find life easier for themselves. They believe that eventually, they become so worthy or worthless that they cannot be reborn to this world, and thus go to a higher form (Immortal or such) or a lower one (animal or worse). They believe that eventually, they will either reach a form so low they cannot work their way out, or that they will reach a form so high they reach an Enlightened state. Some will come very close to either and enter a waiting state (where they are given a chance to win out and not become worthless) or a purgatorial state (where they pay their dues and are allowed to earn Enlightenment). Those who were shrewd live on in the collective memory when they die, for their transactions have repercussions still.
