Hyperphysics
Hyperphysics is a superscience, meaning that it is the scientific study of something supernatural, in this case, the fundamental (also sometimes called black) aether, a form of natural energy that has mystical influence on the basic forces of the world. Like any science, it has two forms, theoretical and practical. Theoretical hyperphysics is basically knowledge of hyperphysics and the ability to research and hypothesize and experiment. Research and hypothesis and some experimentation requires nothing but a brain, but most experimentation requires special equipment. Practical hyperphysics requires equipment and is the application of the principles of hyperphysics.

There are four basic laws of hyperphysics (the italicized part is the basic text of the law):

1. Fundamental aether is the result of interactions of natural particles with supernatural particles. The nature of fundamental aether depends on the interaction that created it. Particles that bond create fundamental aether that binds, particles that decay create fundamental aether that breaks things apart. This law states simply that fundamental aether reflects the natural particles that created it.
2. Fundamental aether takes on the properties of the aethers around it. If fundamental aether is surrounded by rubedian aether, it acts like rubedian aether. If it is surrounded by wind aether, it acts like wind aether. Only pure fundamental aether is observable as fundamental aether. This also means that often, fundamental aether can be extracted from other kinds of aether.
3. Fundamental aether's four types are bonding, decay, gravitational, and electromagnetic. Bonding black aether is the most powerful, then electromagnetic, then decay, then gravitational. The third law states that the interaction of two ore more kinds of fundamental aether is defined by the stronger form of aether, not the amount.
4. Fundamental aether obeys physical laws unless acted upon by intention. The wielding of fundamental aether is affected greatly by the intentions of the wielder, and therefore, safe use is only possible through certain filters.

For further understanding of hyperphysics, one must understand physics. Until black aether is acted upon by mortal intention, it is otherwise indistinguishable from either natural physical forces or other forms of aether. In order to keep black aether pure, hyperphysicists often employ materials attuned to non-aetherial energies to contain it.

Technology
Kiyoshi has six pieces of portable hyperphysical equipment.

• Littany Hyper-Decay FA Emitter: a small athrafstorium pistol with uranium core, purified by a morag acid wash. Emits a black beam of decaying black aether that decays any solid matter at a 22, liquid matter at a 16. Gaseous matter is ignored. This weapon cannot be legally taken out of the lab.
• Littany Liquid Hyperbonding Skin: a black aether fluid suit purified by a titanium emulsifier (causing the skin to constantly ripple) and attuned to Kiyoshi's body by his initial interaction with it. +8/+8 defense.
• Littany Black Cable: a black aether cable of 16 feet in length that is purified by a thread of pure emotional repulsion (made physical by unknown means), attuned to non-black aether with a msawhat-based solution known as Brown 5. The cable can warp space much like asterian plication, but only 16 feet at a time. Simply attach the cable to any two points, then pull them together. Power 19. Experimental, illegal to remove from lab.
• Littany FA Visor: a black visor that allows the user to see fundamental aether. Made from a mirrorsteel/complex metal alloy, imbued with impurified fundamental aether. Experimental, illegal to remove from lab.
• Littany FAEM Shield Belt: a plastic band imbued with electromagnetic black aether by a process known as static rounding, wherein the plastic is placed into a special device known as a Charge-Exhibitor. The belt produces a supernatural electromagnetic barrier one inch off the skin of the wearer when activated. This barrier causes major disruptions in supernatural machinery of any sort at a power of 16, but only if the wearer is less than 6 inches away from the target device.
• Littany Aetherial Distiller: a vessel about 6" tall, pear-shaped, with an opening at the top. Anything aetherial placed into this device will have the black aether distilled from it, if there is any, at a power of 16. It is made of instarium and copper.
