| Description | Kanurikis appear to be anthropomorphic raccoons. They are medium sized (about 5' tall) with greyish fur that is very dense on their bellies. They have a facial mask of fur that is black and makes them look like bandits, thus their common derogatory term bandits or coon bandits or trash bandits, the latter based on habits of their mundane antecedents. They have rounded ears with white fur on them and short legs. Their tails are very bushy. |

| Special Powers | Kanurikis are agile and intelligent. They are very dexterous. They have bad vision and hypersensitive touch, which they use to dousing their food clean with their hands. They are decent swimmers and excellent climbers, and they can store a lot of fat to survive for a long time without much food. They have connections to spirits and are known for being both mischievous and wise (males tend to be the former, females the latter). They use sweat and panting to regulate their temperatures. All kanurikis are decent story tellers, making them also decent liars. A kanuriki's tail will grow longer and bushier as the story s/he tells grow more fantastic and ridiculous, but it is impossible to notice this until much later. |

| Culture | Kanurikis are friendly folk who are perhaps a little too inquisitive, getting into a lot of situations they shouldn't. The females tend to live together in communal forest homes, while the males wander the world and get into trouble, though these roles are not set in stone, and indeed, not following traditional roles is a respected tradition unto itself. The telling of stories is central to their lives. |
