Donovan Telle is dead.

The Telle name is known across the world, a line of merchant princes who for hundreds of years kept firm fingers on every line of trade imaginable, from ores to grains to alchemical apparatuses to clothes to art to (if rumors are to be believed) items of a more illicit nature.

As a merchant Donovan failed to live up to the family name. Reputed to be eccentric, and reclusive, in his hands the Telle Empire suffered from poor decisions and neglect that has reduced it to a mere shadow of its former glory. Nevertheless Telle died one of the wealthiest men in the world and his death, of a heart problem suffered all his life, made news everywhere.

Though you have heard of the man you have, of course, never met him. Which made it quite the surprise when you received a letter inviting you to Telle Manor as his potential heir.

Player Characters can be of any of the standard playable races, from any walk of life so long as they are someone who'd be tempted by the chance at wealth, a Gift or two, or even just the curiousness of the situation.
