| Description | Hugwuddans are anthropomorphic bristleworms. They are about 4' long. They are iridescent, with multihued bodies covered in bristles. Their bodies are segmented and each have a pair of parapodia which are covered in bristles. They have a large overbite, and between 0 and 4 pairs of eyes along their heads. They also have shallow nuchal organ pits on their heads, roughly where ears would be. They have small antennae and a long proboscis. |
| Procreation | Follows the mother. Lays eggs. |
| Magic | One in five million have heart or soul magic. Mind and body magic are possible. Void is possible. Faith is not uncommon. |
| Special Powers | Hugwuddans are marine beings that use their parapodia for swimming, digging, skimming, floating, boring, latching onto things, sensing, and attacking. They are very toxic creatures, both on their skin and in their attacks. They can thrive in deep water, near thermal vents, or near the surface of the seas. |
| Weaknesses | Home magic or faith can kill them. |
| Culture | Hugwuddans have many, many tribes, thousands of them, in the oceans of the world. They live in vast tribes that are classified in three ways: habitat, diet, and form. The main habitats are burrows, tubes, the ocean floor, thermal vent areas, or pelagic zone. The main diets are predatory, commensal, parasitic, or herbivorous. The forms are widely varied, but always basically a segmented body covered in bristles. Hugwuddan tribes are a pollution. They are so vast and so many that they can wipe out all life in an area within months, and other marine beings are constantly at war with them. Only deep ones seem to tolerate them, and that is because they dominate them and enslave them as tools. |
